CONTEMPORARY LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS
BY ALISSA KIM TJEN
Alissa is a contemporary landscape artist based in North Vancouver, Canada. Her semi-abstract paintings invite viewers to bring the tranquility and energy of nature into their homes. Through color, texture, and movement, she transforms the essence of the landscape into a space of calm reflection.
Each painting is a meditative response to the natural world — an attempt to capture not just what is seen, but what is felt. Alissa’s works offer a quiet pause, evoking the serenity and wonder that nature brings.
She has presented her art in six solo exhibitions and over twenty-six group shows across British Columbia, and her paintings are held in private collections around the world.
Her work has also been featured in Saatchi Art’s international hospitality projects, on Samsung Frame TV, LG GalleryTV+ and President’s Choice.

Resonance Unfolds
In this series, I explore the shifting boundaries between water, land, and air — where reflections blur what is above and what lies beneath. What began as a study of a pond’s surface has become a meditation on perception and the fluid nature of reality. As the elements merge, distinctions dissolve, revealing a quiet space between the seen and unseen. The surface of water becomes both mirror and threshold — a place where stillness and movement, substance and reflection coexist. Through layered colors and textures, I invite viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of all things and to experience the sense of wonder that arises when boundaries fade and the ordinary world becomes luminous and infinite.
